A recent experience
While driving back to Boston, an hour out of New York City, after a holiday visit with my children and grandchildren, my car became enveloped in smoke and I was just able to get off the highway and park in a safe spot before it conked out. There I was in the woods, in a very upscale but rural area with no houses, cars or people in sight, except one enormous house, which had just been built and was still empty.
On top of this, I locked myself out of my car, while stepping out to call AAA for road-side service. Then my phone went dead before I could tell them where I was. But I did not know where I was. There was no sign anywhere and I had gotten off the highway as fast as I could and had not even noticed the exit number.

Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures) Through my study of the Bible and Science and Health, I have been learning more and more that Love is the Principle of good, of God, which is always with us 24/7, forever. It’s not chance that brings us solutions, but this divine Principle, always in operation. So I was not afraid or panicked at all and expectantly asked God to show me what to do. Very soon, a runner came over the hill into view, and kindly stopped to help me call for AAA road service on his cell phone, giving his name and phone number as a back up should there be a need to reach me. He said he would come back in his car to check to see if the tow truck had come once he had run the 4 remaining miles to his home.
While I waited for AAA, and pondered God’s power to bring healing to any situation, I decided to go for a run. I had planned to do my regular run when I got home and this was a perfect place to do it while I waited. It was sunny and not too cold - a beautiful, clear day. I rejoiced with every step at God’s grace and protection. Then the angel message came to check a particular pocket in my purse and there was an extra key to the car.

The AAA guy, Ulises, came as expected and immediately assessed what was wrong. It was Sunday and he could have just towed me to a gas station and left me there, as there was no place open in the area to do repairs, but instead he took me to an auto parts store, let me charge my phone in his truck, and corroborated with the staff there about what he thought would patch me up enough to get me home that day. He put epoxy on my burst radiator, and then drove me in his truck, to a mall nearby where I could spend a couple of hours at a comfortable restaurant, while the epoxy dried enough to drive home. On top of that, he would not take any payment for this. This all took place in about 30 minutes. He was truly God’s good Samaritan, helping me in a challenging predicament. When I made it home by about 8PM that night, he texted me to find out if I had made it ok. The next morning at 9am, I was able to get my radiator replaced by my own mechanic here in Boston.
Harmony was the fact all day. What an awesome God we all have!
